Troubleshooting a preview

By NICE RIM Updated 4 min read

Most disappointing results come from the source images, not the wheel design. Check the car photo first, then the wheel reference, then the generation settings.

  • A changed background usually means the car photo was unclear.
  • An unreadable wheel usually means the reference was angled or too small.
  • Do not keep retrying the same inputs and expecting a different result.

The background or car changed

If the model moved the car, changed the background or altered the paint, the car photo probably had a weak edge between the car and its surroundings. A busy background, deep shadow or a car partly covered by an object makes the cut-out harder.

Try a cleaner daylight photo with the whole car visible and a clear gap between the roof, mirrors and background.

The wheel is unclear or in the wrong place

An angled wheel reference, a wheel partly hidden by an arch or a very small image can all produce a poor result. Use a straight-on product photo with the full rim visible and crop out most of the background.

If the wheel appears at the wrong scale, the car photo may be at an extreme angle. A side view is easier to scale than a tight three-quarter shot.

The generation failed

Check that both images uploaded completely and that the file is a normal JPG, PNG or WebP. Very large files and screenshots with unusual colour profiles are common causes of a failed upload.

If the error repeats with a clean JPG and a second browser, contact support with the time of the attempt and the email on the account. Do not send your password.

Still stuck

Email hello@nicerim.com with the account email, what you tried and a screenshot of the error if there is one. A short description of the source images is more useful than a generic “it did not work”.

Support can help with the tool. It cannot approve a wheel fitment or tell you that a wheel will clear your brakes.

See a wheel on your own car before you buy it.
